Publicize and YouTube
-
When I create a post on my blog that contains an embedded YouTube video, Publicize creates posts on Facebook and Twitter that aren’t best for my needs. I use Publicize to drive readers from social media to my ad-supported website, but posts with YouTube videos don’t do entirely that.
- On Facebook, it’s possible for the reader to watch the video within my Facebook page rather than clicking through to my website
- On Twitter, my custom message appears, followed by a link to the video on YouTube, like this “Custom message text here: youtube.com/watch?v=cofNVu …”
Both the FB and Twitter posts also link to my website, but these links are less prominent than the YouTube links, and I’m concerned that I’m missing out on traffic. Is there a way that I can change this behavior, or can it be changed in a future Jetpack version?
