Publication Date – Not Showing On RSS Feed?

Hi david256, I’d recommend you to use feedburner to create your RSS feed as it automatically adds the publication date & time to your RSS feed. I think this would solve the problem. https://feedburner.google.com

Panter8, I just set up feedburner on my site and my burned feed is losing the publication date, yet my original feed shows them.

Any advice?

I have the opposite problem of yours , is it possible to remove the date and time from the rss feeds ?

So has nobody found how to get the date back on the feed?

I have the same issue as I need to have the feed picked up by social networking sites and am not sure how to edit the code to add the pubdate

OH I found the answer! If you go into your wp-includes/feed-rss.php

Find this line:
<description><?php bloginfo_rss(‘description’) ?></description>

Then, add this line:
<lastBuildDate><?php echo mysql2date(‘D, d M Y H:i:s +0000’, get_lastpostmodified(‘GMT’), false); ?></lastBuildDate>

right after. It worked for me. ??

This is strange, I went into my editor to add it as described and that line of code already exists yet my rss doesn’t have a pubdate.

I found a solution from another www.remarpro.com thread

Use the rss2 version and the dates appeared.
