    Hi,

I notice in this blog update from almost three years ago that it states it was not possible at the time to have both public courses and monetized courses available on the same website but that it will be possible “very soon” (as shown in the red text of the screenshot below).

Today, I have just tried to label a course as public but it not possible to access the lessons within unless monetization is also turned off in the general settings.

Is it therefore still the case that this has not been fixed in the near three years since this update was made? Can you therefore clarify what your definition of “very soon” is?

Thank you for your help! ??

  • Hello @keraisin67,

Thank you for contacting Themeum support. I hope you are doing well.

Public courses are not meant to be monetized as monetization requires you to select a paid product. Likewise paid courses are not meant to be set as public courses. I hope you understand the difference now ??

What is wrong with this support team? This is now the FOURTH TIME IN A ROW that you have misread a message that I have left here, even though I’ve stated that message very clearly and concisely.

This is due to nothing but laziness. You are either reading just the first line or two of messages and then assuming what the question must be based off those first few lines, or you are scanning for keywords in the entire message and assuming what the question must be based off those keywords. This is not only embarrassing but you are also letting potential paying customers know that they will be in for a very frustrating experience if they ever consider becoming a pro user.

Let me type out again what I said above, as I have had to do the last three times I left a message on this forum. Please read the below very slowly and carefully.

According to the red text in the image above from a post made on your website about three years ago, it was not possible to offer both public courses and monetized courses on the same website.

This was the case three years ago according to the image above. It’s still the case now. When I create a public course, I can only access the lessons within that course if I turn off monetization for the plugin as a whole in the general settings. I therefore still cannot have both monetized courses and free public courses on the same website.

The red text in the image above said it would be fixed “very soon”. That was nearly three years ago. It’s still not fixed.

When should we expect this to be fixed?

    Thank you for your help!

    Hello @keraisin67,

Can you tell us which theme you are using? Can you share the course page urls for both public and paid courses. Let us know your version of Tutor LMS.

A plugin goes through reiterating developmental cycle intended to improve the architecture, design and overall enhancement in features and functions so what was unachievable 3 years ago no longer applies and is now possible to offer public courses and paid courses on the same LMS platform but not for the same course.

I have the most recent version of Tutor LMS. I have tried various themes, including the most recent WordPress theme (Twenty Twenty-Three). The issue is present in all cases.

Note that the monetization method I use is Paid Memberships Pro. If I switch to WooCommerce, I’m able to access the lessons within public courses.

Therefore, the issue appears to be specifically that it’s not possible to have Paid Memberships Pro as the monetization method while also offering public courses at the same time. If I try to open a lesson within a public course with this setup, it just redirects me to the course details page.

Can you confirm that, if you select Paid Memberships Pro as your monetization method, that you are able to access the lessons within a public course?

    Hello @ucdguy,

Tutor LMS-PMP integration is a pro plugin feature which is not included with the free version of Tutor LMS.

Based on WordPress support guidelines we are not allowed to offer support for pro plugin features in here. Please write to support at themeum dot com. We will then follow up accordingly.
