PSA — WP 5.5 Lazy Load does not addresses everything this plugin does

    Just a PSA

    Wordpress 5.5 just added a lazy load default feature. However:

    When I deactivated my Lazy Load plugin, the GTMetrix YSlow score declined 9 points from 97 to 88. I got an F score in the CDN and Etags sections at the top of the list in the YSlow tab. Once I reactivated the Lazy Load plugin, everything was back to normal.

    So this lazy loading update in WordPress 5.5 does not do everything that the Lazy Load plugin does.

    Same here. By deactivating the Plugin my mobile score on PageSpeed Insights dropped to 37 from 76. I even tested this twice because I could not believe it.

    So please continue to develop this plugin. Whatever the LazyLoad-feature of WordPress 5.5. does, it is not sufficient.
