• The plugin works and I’m happy with its functionality, just not the performance.

I later found that this plugin was responsible for my site slowing down (beyond use). Adding an item to the cart went from taking 330ms to 11-28 seconds… It was [Advanced Dynamic Pricing for WooCommerce] causing a filter that this module uses to be launched multiple times

Within minutes I was able to display live rates, customize the settings to my liking, etc. The module is very promising and satisfied all of my needs. I just wish I could use it/the speed trade wasn’t so severe. The issue could be unique to my setup though, so I wouldn’t hesitate to try it for another site or revisiting after a few updates.

    Hello @grower,

Thank you for your review! I have to say I didn’t notice (and none reported this us) problem with a performance that you experienced.

It’s obvious that the data from UPS API needs more time to update, because we send the request and receive the response from them when any product has been added to the cart, but usually, it takes 2-5 seconds max. Of course, it can take more time if you as an admin have enabled debug mode, and see all the information with request and response in the cart/checkout page.

Unfortunately, this is how UPS API works if we want to receive live rates and we can’t do anything more about it.

    Best regards,
    Marta

TLDR: Its probably being caused by a different module.

Thanks Marta, I may have prematurely barked up your tree. Truth is I have so much customization on my site that it’s likely a unique case of not mixing well with my other plugins. I haven’t tried your plugin by itself yet so it is definitely worth revisiting

I’ll check on the debugging and hopefully iron out who the culprit is because a 15+ second response time tells me that its something I am trying send in the request?something that one of my other plugins is likely responsible for. I’ll find out soon and edit!

    Thanks,
    Grower
