provide whitelists for JSON REST API

  • Currently, we can:

    • Black list IPs for XML-RPC
    • White list IPs for XML-RPC

    Unfortuntately, we cannot blacklist/whitelist urls for JSON REST API.

    Currently, I have disabled JSON REST API but a 3rd party plugin needs a specific route to be open. Please provide the following use cases:

    • Black list URLs for JSON REST API
    • White list URLs for JSON REST API

    I’m afraid that the whitelist and blacklist functionality is not working for the WP REST API; it only applies to the XML-RPC endpoint. I will consider expanding this feature, but please keep in mind that this plugin is primarily designed to manage the xmlrpc.php file, and the option to disable the REST API is just an additional tool.

    Thanks, maybe you can also consider to rename the plugin to “Disable API” or (“Disable Endpoint”) (instead of “Disable XML-RCP-API”). It would make it clearer that any kind of wordpress enpoint/api can be disabled..
