Extra feature added -I apprecaite it adds in a layer of security
BUT No option to disable it – (what about sites with plugins that have this type of feature enabled) I want to be able to disable your feature, I do not wish to deactivate my chosen plugin to fit in with Jetpack.

The WP site is using the French edition with our audience being 99.99% French native speakers. If your going to add on a feature, then you must proved a working translation that matches the sites language of theat site prefere language >50% of WP sites are no longer use english as their main language.
I don’t see owners should have to do translation work for a feature n we didn’t ask – but i want the the very least an option to be able to translate the text for my vistors.

Jetpack was registred with a French language based account –
english is not used on the front end or backend.

BUT No option to disable it

You can deactivate Jetpack Protect by going to Jetpack > Settings in your dashboard, and clicking on “Deactivate” next to the Protect module.

If your going to add on a feature, then you must proved a working translation that matches the sites language

Jetpack comes with French translation files, including translations for each string in the plugin. Did you find an untranslated string somewhere in the plugin settings screen, or anywhere on your site? We might have missed and forgotten to translate one of the strings, but if you let me know where you found untranslated strings I’ll make sure they’re translated in the next release!

Can someone help me? I’m locked out of my web site admin now so I cannot log in and make the changes suggested here. I used to be able to bypass the really annoying “Prove your humanity” prompt by using <domain>/wp-admin.php instead of <domain>/wp-admin but now even that doesn’t work any longer.

This may works. (never tried this myself)
as you have a wordpress.com account.
have you tried uising the account(the alias) and the (wp.com) passwd.
Good luck.
Option 2 – FTP into and delete the Jetpack-plugin.
at the next login your back to the pure passwd recovery process
-Once your back in re install Jetpack and turn off “The Human check” in the settings.

Since you don’t have access to your dashboard, you’ll need to use option 2 or 3.

@meat06 Good call. I’ll make sure this can be translated. We’ll add the string to our .po file and make it translatable in the next Jetpack release.

I followed all the instructions to the letter but this issue has now completely locked me out my site for days now. Nothing I’ve tried has worked. I deleted the Jetpack and Akismet plugins and reset my password using the password recovery mechanism and it will not let me past the log in screen. If anyone can help, please help me, I don’t know what to do and I’ve already got a huge amount of time invested in this site.

The “prove your humanity” string is not translateable yet, but it will be added to the list of strings in the coming few weeks.

The field appears when you’ve activated Jetpack’s Protect module, and when Jetpack can’t connect to the Protect API when someone tries to log in.
