    G’day Bryan,

That’s problematic — not everything generated by WordPress is a web page, so you need the protocol by default. e.g. emails can be generated from WordPress with embedded images, and email clients need to know which protocol to load those images over (could be HTTP, HTTPS, FTP). This is why WordPress itself doesn’t do it already.

    cheers,
    Ross

Possible consideration as an optional toggle for those of us that want to refine our settings?

    Thank you.

I’ll add it to my list. I have a few enhancements planned for next year, so it’ll slip in with them.

    cheers,
