• Hello all. I have a question about how to set up pages with a password. I have a page with content that I would like to be password protected. When I used the feature in WordPress to password the page, the content was still able to be viewed without the password being entered. I should mention that I’m using a template that enumerates child pages, which this particular page does have.

Is there a way, with or without a plugin, that I can have users enter a password, and be directed to another page when password is successfully entered, where they can then see the content that is the reason for the password in the first place? I would like nothing to show up on that page except for a message saying that a password is needed. If it could be done without a plugin, this would be great. I am learning to use Ultimate Member. I think it is possible to do what I would like to do with it. Someone told me that what I need to do is make a portal page. Not sure HOw that is done. Any help with this one would be appreciated.

  • Hello kf4yfa,

Wordpress Default Password Protected Feature should work just fine. After setting up the password protection to any page, try to open it in Private Window and make sure you are not logged it to Admin, as when you are logged in as Admin the page content will be visible.

Rest it should work just fine.

You can also refer below URL for more details.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

When the site was tested by others who definitely were not logged in as anything, they could see the child pages. Are child pages the issue here?

Are all your child pages have been marked as Password Protected?
