    Hi There,
I tried to protect a page. Works like a charm with Safari (mac), but with Firefox, I cannot seem to access the page. It just reloads the password form. I looked at the code and everything seems fine.
Does anybody have solution or encountered this?

    Thanks
    Bas

I checked password protected pages with Firefox 9 in Ubuntu 11.10 and it works fine.

The only strange thing I noticed is that if two different pages are password protected with same password, then a user is shown the second page automatically if he had stored that password in the browser.

    Thanks for checking!
    Could you try this?
-> Removed link, page is offline now!

With me (FF 9 on a mac) it does not work. In safari it does. Even tried the default theme, but then it also does not work…

    Thanks again,
    Bas

    password = oo
    for testing purposes

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Found it! I disabled cookies in Firefox. Enabling them fixed the issue. The protection uses cookies!

    Thanks everybody for helping out.
