    If I’d like to set up a membership site where, for $20 a month, people can download as many videos as they want.
    So…
    Membership level – looks like this’ll work.
    Payment through Stripe – still lookin’ great.
    Functions and code – seems pretty good.
    Now, how do I protect my content (in my case it’d be .mp4 files that would probably land in the /uploads folder) from being hijacked and folks finding the ‘protected’ content?

    I work w/ WordPress and companies professionally, but here’s why I think you might have a winner on your hands….
    EDD is big. So big, as a matter of fact, that sometimes folks get ‘overwhelmed’ with WAAAAAAAAY too many options. Plus, to get a site to do something specific, it involves purchasing and configuring WAAAAAAY too many options. So now, folks are stuck with “expensive” and “overwhelming”!

    WPMU DEV has a great Membership plugin, but they haven’t pushed an update to work with Stripe.

    I can go on and on and on with different plugins. But the point here is that the WP community needs a plugin that can focus on simplicity. For example:
    $20/mo unlimited downloads w/ protected file paths would involve tons of levers, buttons, configurations, downloads, and a “plugins” menu that’ll damn near have to be paginated ?? if I went with most of the current options!! (which is absolutely crazy)

    So, all you pretty much need to do (in my opinion) is obfuscate the downloadable files and you’ll be in the big leagues!!

    Thanks Brad! Yes, our idea was to create something simple and quick to get started. Will take care for files as soon as I have some time for this plugin.
