Protect Uploads used as cover for hacking website and server

    I’m sorry to inform you that Protect Uploads was used as a cover for hacking one of my websites and hosting server.

    I detected several instances of the (fake) plugin.

    I’m not sure how or why it was uploaded to our WordPress install, neither how it was actually used.

    I understand that this may be an abusive use of your plugin header. Nevertheless, I believe it’s in your best interest to know this, and act as you may see fit.
