Protect revisions from database optimisation tools

    Hi,
    how do you protect revisions from database optimisation tools?
    These tools can remove revisions. If you want to remove revisions from posts and pages but not from Buddypress Docs, what do you do?

    The developer added a custom field option named ‘keep_revisions’ but Buddypress Docs doesn’t have a custom field feature (as regular posts have) so that I can add it. I am searching for a plugin to add that feature but I don’t really like to do that as I have already many plugins installed and that slows my site.
    I know that Buddypress Docs is widely used for collaboration. So what all these people do to resolve the problem? Is it easy to add a custom field option to your plugin?

    Hi there-

    The simpler solution is to use a revision removal tool that lets you specify which posts types should be affected and which shouldn’t–that seems like a nice improvement to a tool like that. ??

    Otherwise, wouldn’t you be wanting to add that custom field to every BP Doc? (So you might as well protect the whole post type.)

    yes I found a revision removal plugin.

    Generally speaking, I think that collaborative tools where revisions count should have a feature to protect them.

    Finally, I am not sure I’ll use BP Docs, because it is not a light plugin and I have a shared server. Maybe later…
