Protect Entire Post Type

Is there a way to automatically protect an entire custom post type without having to do it manually, either on a post-by-post basis or through the bulk protection feature? I added the post type addon, but I didn’t see an option to protect the post type by default.

If not through the plugin, is there an action hook or filter that I could use to apply protection to all posts in a post type automatically, including new posts that are added later?
