    Greetings…

I am about to release a large Woo store with 12000 plus products. I have now converted this site into a network (multi site).

    Using this solution: https://woomultistore.com/

I am able to spin off a dirivite site that could sell a subset of products from the main site. This would make our company in competition with itself by having two domains or two sites that are selling the same product.

We are not trying to trick the client but rather provide as many shopping channels as we can to keep product selling.

Does anyone have any experience regarding this strategy? Pros? Cons?

Can anyone think of a true negative to having multiple sites selling the same product?

All experience, insight would be appreciated.

    Rob

There are a few things to be aware of:

    • The user table is shared across the network. This means that if user X registers an account on Site A, they won’t be able to register on Site B with the same details.
    • Not all plugins are multisite compatible.
    • The database can get quite large, really quickly. Database optimisation is key here and having a good database administrator on staff is important (as well as a great hosting setup)

    Hi there!

We haven’t heard back from you for a couple of weeks, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    All the best!
