Pros & Cons of Using WP on WordPress.com or Other Server

I am completely overwhelmed by the information on this site. Just recently (at at somebody else’s computer)I saw a write-up either on wordpress.com or www.remarpro.com (or one of their forums, or the codex)about the pros and cons of using WordPress.com to host a blog vs. using a different server such as Yahoo for example.

Now I can’t locate that write-up and can’t get to that other computer. How can I find the write-up?
