I just started playing with wordpress and I made the front page to my website static (www.nschwaller.com) because I just want it to be a simple home page. I want to set up a blog on my Blog page, but when I go to the reader under settings and designate that as the place I want to post things to the link in the header becomes invalid. When you click it, it says that the posts cannot be found. So I unselected it and now my posts are published to https://www.nschwaller.com/archives/exp; but whenever you just go to https://www.nschwaller.com/archives you get the same problem. Is there a way I can set it up so you click on the Blog link in the header and then it goest directly to my blog page, with the little word blurb about what it is about as I have it set up and have my posts coming under it?

Using the theme Twenty Ten 1.1

Sorry if I’m mixing up my terminology, I just started working with this.

  • create an empty page titled “Blog”
    save it
assign that empty page as posts page

Awesome. I figured something out. Thanks for the help!

assign that empty page as posts page

How to do that? Is it Page Attributes > Template > Posts page ?
I don’t have the ‘Posts page’ option, the only post related option available is ‘Single Post’.
