Proper database management during new WordPress website build.

  • We are building a new WordPress website to replace our current WordPress website.

    During the 2 month build of the new WordPress website, our current WordPress website will continue to be live, and have content added to it like posts, and page content, etc.

    How do we make sure this recent added content to our current website is not lost prior to launch of the new website?

    I assume this is through database management, however I would like some advice on the this matter.

  • One solution to consider:

    Use the Export/Import tool that comes with WordPress, so that you can export the content from the previous site, and import it to the new site without overwriting anything.
