• Hi, I’m trying to configure the plugin to properly deal with bounces, but there are several settings that are not well-explained what they mean. Could you please elaborate on what each of these settings actually does?

Activate bounce and check every… (checkbox)
    Mailbox full/not available options:
    – Delete the user
    – Change status to ‘Bounced’
    – Unsubscribe The User
    – Disregard current list

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks, but I’ve already seen that. It doesn’t explain the settings.

I want to know what each of these settings does. The guide doesn’t say anything about them.

For example, what does “Disregard current list” do? What does “Change status to ‘Bounced’” do, and why would I use it?

So, if someone could come explain the following settings, I would really appreciate it.

Activate bounce and check every… (checkbox)
    Mailbox full/not available options:
    – Delete the user
    – Change status to ‘Bounced’
    – Unsubscribe The User
    – Disregard current list

    Thank you!

When an email unable to reach user’s mailbox (bounced), you have couple of options to handle that behavior:
    – Delete the user <– delete the user from mailpoet list
    – Change status to ‘Bounced’ <– change user subscription status to bounced
    – Unsubscribe The User <– if the user is subscribed, then unsubscribe the user
    – Disregard current list <– remove/add the user from current list to other list or simply do nothing, just remove from the list.

    Hope it helps. Thanks

    Thank you! That does help.

    (1) What is the “Activate bounce and check every…” checkbox for? What does it do?

    (2) Why would I want a user’s status to be changed to “bounced,” and what effect does that have on the user?

    Hello,

“Activate bounce and check every…” <– it will check whether an email bounced or not based on your defined schedule

    Please read that article: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/180-bounce-management-in-mailpoet-3

    Thanks

    Ok
