Proofing not functioning

Alot of the advanced functionality requires fairly tight integration with a supporting theme, so it may not be possible to get precisely the functionality you are after without some modification to your theme.

We provide the plugin for free on www.remarpro.com with the hope of gaining some feedback for the product and provide a platform for those that want to contribute to the plugin to do so, you can see from this demo what is possible with the right galleries and theme support.

We are looking to make the plugin work for as many themes as possible, so any feedback and suggestions we will take on board and provide assistance where we can.

I have fully tested my install using various default wp themes and the result is still the same.
I have looked at your demo and I have a feeling that this maybe not what I’m after. Your demo simply shows some kind of form below the images. What I am after is a system that simply allows my photographers clients to check a checkbox next to each image as they look through them. They then submit this at the end and the photographer is notified of their selections. Does your system do that?

Hi Adam,

The link there is a password protected post, therefore I’m probably not looking at what you’re looking at.

From what you are describing this sounds like you are after something quite specific. As stated previously, the output of the plugin, insofar as what the end user sees, is dependant on how the theme handles the custom post type, but should be relatively easy to manage, depending on your coding skills.

Our ceremony wordpress theme provides the output in a specific way, as demonstrated in the link in my previous response.

I understand that this is a free plugin and I appreciate any help I can get but would it be possible to get replies on a speedier basis? I have a client waiting for this website and if I can’t get it running I will have to give up on this plugin.

Thanks for screencast, made things a bit clearer. I can see that the fundamental issue is that you are using the shortcode, not the custom post type to display the content, as I alluded to in my previous post. While this works fine for a normal gallery itself, the proofing aspect needs to be controlled with the theme via a custom template.

You may wish to look at the ‘Displaying your content’ section from this article for more details.

If speed is essential to your work or client, you may wish to hire a specialist WordPress developer, who should have a good handle on working with custom post types and integrating the plugin and theme. The plugin is provided for free on the directory ‘as-is’, to provide a platform for development and feedback. I’ll take on board your comments and look to include more detailed theme integration guides at some point in the future.

Hi,
The link you sent me is just a generic article on how to make a generic custom post type. Unfortunately this article does nothing to help me get this plugin running. Are you able to send me anything to help? Any code? pages? files? anything?
I am a coder and highly competent at css so I’m not asking for anything to be pretty. I can make it pretty. I just need it to work.

Hi Adam,

Did you look at the section ‘Displaying your content’? From that you will see you need two template files archive-ht_gallery_post.php for the archive page and single-ht_gallery_post.php for the single page in your theme.

You can then control the output of the post like you would with the archive.php and single.php template files in any other theme.

ok. Can you provide these files for me?
I appreciate your help but you seem to assume that I know how to create these files. Isn’t this what the plugin is for? If this plugin requires me to create ANYTHING then it is of no use to me. I need someone to say “here’s the files, complete with code. Place them here”. I can modify the css easily but as far as I can tell, the only people that can create the correct code for this custom post type are the people that made it.

If you are after a theme which will work with no additional coding, our Ceremony theme, available on ThemeForest, will do just that.

For all other themes, you will need to create a template for the custom post type to display the content, as described above.
