    Hi,

When adding Illdy Project Widgets, the images I added would not show. The generated css was something like:

    background-image: url(https://full/path/to/illdy/parent/theme/https://full/path/to/wp-uploads/image);

So I went into the companion plugin, and the file illdy-companion/widgets/class-widget-project.php, and removed get_template_directory_uri() . from $output.

That seemed to solve the problem, but …?
    1) I don’t know what I’m doing, nor whether that’s the right/good way of fixing it,
    2) I expect that will be overwritten next time there’s an update, and
    3) I thought you should know either way,
…?so it would be good if you addressed it.

    Thanks for a great theme.

  • Hi Chris,

I hope you are well today and thanks for posting here.

Don’t do it by editing theme files instead could you please share me your site URL where it’s happening so that i can troubleshoot it?

    Kind regards,

Thanks for the quick reply, Vinod.

Ok. I’ve reverted to the original.

You can see it at https://papaya.wpengine.com/. Shoot me an email on nordtomme at gmail if you would like me to temporarily create an admin account for you.

It is happening 2 project images on your site but rest of project images are displaying fine.

This can be child theme issue on your site so to confirm it just temporary use the Illdy theme instead of child theme on your site. If everything works fine then it’s your child theme issue so just share me your child theme so that i can troubleshoot it.

It still happened with one widget when I changed it back to the parent theme, but I noticed that it only happened to a file with a special character in the name (“?”). I renamed both files I had trouble with, uploaded them again, and now it seems to be working.

I’m not sure that’s the whole answer, however, because one of the files did not have any obviously problematic characters (Idun_landingsside_pc-mob-e1480415613166.jpg), and files with special characters in the name still work in other positions (e.g. featured/header image), so there may be something else going on.

Ok so do you mean the issues are having only to the image files with a special character in the name (“?”) and if that character is removed then it works fine without any issue?

Not just “?” (only one of the two files had an ? –?or other obviously special character), but there seems to have been something about the filename.

Ok if you think it is theme related issue and not file name then you can report it on this page https://colorlib.com/wp/forums/forum/illdy/
