    Hi,

I have created an import script to automatically populate _yoast_wpseo_metadesc, _yoast_wpseo_focuskw

What routine do I call to get Yoast to recalculate the SEO/Readability ratings?

The closest thing I have found to this is code in class-recalculate-scores-ajax.php

    Kind Regards,

    James

    Hi Ben,

Just because you have ignored this post does not mean it is resolved.

Please can someone you point this in the direction of your developers as this is quite a technical question regarding the inner workings of the plugin.

    Thanks,

    James

    Hi James,

We understand there is concern to get Yoast to recalculate the SEO/Readability ratings. Please know that we are, the Yoast Technical support team, are unable to resolve the issue. We are only able to resolve technical issues related to the plugin not working as expected rather than providing support for custom scripts.

We understand you would like the issue resolve. We suggest three options:
    A. Consider hiring a developer. We highly recommend checking out?Code Poet ( https://directory.codepoet.com/ ) for available freelance WordPress developers and?Human Made ( https://hmn.md/ ) for development & consultancy.

    B. Alternatively, perhaps a developer watching these forums can assist further.

    C. You may need to edit the JavaScript to force a recalculation. We have a guide that maybe helpful here: https://github.com/Yoast/YoastSEO.js/blob/master/README.md

    Hi Pat,

    Thank you for your response.

It is quite alarming that the SEO scoring happens in Javascript and I very much doubt any WordPress import plugin will be able to interact with Yoast now (not without a lot of hacking, at least). Perhaps you will consider reverting this important logic back to the server side code in a future release.

    Kind regards,

    James

    Hi James,

We understand the concern. We do thank you for suggesting a new feature for one of our plugins. The request has been sent to our development team for further exploration. You can view the request here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/7344

We suggest commenting on the issue so you may be kept aware of any updates. You may need a GitHub account prior to commenting.
