Have been testing out ProfileGrid today as an alternative to a hosted community platform and all looking good so far but i have a question before I buy the full extension package which is regarding the group wall feature.

I want to have a whole range of groups, each with the ability to show a dedicated group activity feed?where group members can post in a typical social media activity feed style. I believe that is what the group wall plug in offers, but want to be sure it can be used to create multiple walls across multiple groups as it isn’t 100% clear from your documentation here: https://profilegrid.co/how-allow-user-to-submit-post-and-upload-media-to-their-group-walls/#prettyPhoto. And here: https://profilegrid.co/extensions/group-wall/

Second question is whether it’s possible to turn off at admin/config level the notifications to group members each time a post is made on the group wall, I assume so. Obviously can’t check without having the plugin live.

Third question …. can users tie blog posts to a specific group? I can see that they can select the option “Content accessible to my fellow Group Members” but can they select which group if a member of multiple groups? And can the blog be automatically posted / linked to the group wall ? (Can do some of this in background manually via admin, but would be useful to know)

It would be useful to see screen grabs of the wall showing multiple posts, not just a single post, to see how it presents, if possible.

For ref, I’m using Uncode theme.

    Hello @maggietaylor,

ProfileGrid Group wall extension adds a Group Wall/ Discussions tab on group page, it allows to create multiple wall posts across multiple groups (groups to which user belongs) to a user.

As of now, plugin does not have a feature to turn off the notifications to group members on adding wall post.

Blogs posts are not group specific, users can add blog post, and can configure privacy for that. Based on the privacy, other users can see the blog posts on the user profile. Group wall and blog post are different, and cannot be linked to each other.

For more information, please reach out to us directly using this?form.

This person’s questions if VERY close to what I needed to know and to understand. I am not knowledgeable of bbpress so I don’t have a good understanding of how these blogs/post plugins work, but I have installed profilegrid and bbpress in my website. I have all extensions that were available configured but I don’t see many things.

I have the user’s page which the appropriate groups but I don’t see the wall. Is this a paid feature?

Also I really only want my members to create posts in forum pages the admin creates so I “assume” that is the group wall. This is how I want it to work.

I have 2 groups created. User 1 has joined group 1. I only want this user to see, post and reply to forum’s for group 1. Is that possible? I understand they can create posts and decide where who receives those posts but for now, I just want to ensure members in groups can see a forum and posts for that specific group.

    Hello @delbra,

ProfileGrid extension “Group Wall” adds social activity to User Groups. Members of a group can create new posts, comment on other members’ posts and browse Group timeline. Group Wall is accessible from Group page as a new tab. For more information, please visit the link: https://profilegrid.co/how-allow-user-to-submit-post-and-upload-media-to-their-group-walls/

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
