    If there a way to globally disable creating links in blog posts?

    The problem I see is that links are created as DOFOLLOW.

    This will create a situation where people will just register to blog to get a backlink to their site. That is a good way to get a site blacklisted from Google with thousands of DOFOLLOW links pointing to bad websites.
