• With my webpage open or while in the dashboard, in the far top right corner is: “Howdy, Rick Diffley” but my profile image is not appearing. The standard gravatar symbol appears instead.

I have a gravatar account and it works as my profile image appears when I visit other sites and comment. Just don’t know how to add it to my webpage.

Question: How do I get my profile picture linked to this specific location on my webpage?

    Thank you.

  • You need to assign the email associated with Gravatar to your WordPress account. The email of your WP-account is the way to add your Gravatar.

Sorry, but I’m a little confused.

At my “manage gravitas” page my image appears (Like seen here as “member”) with my email address listed as primary. This is the same email address that appears on my Word Press – “My Account.”

    Thanks!

Settings –> Discussion –> Avatars (at the bottom)

    1. Make sure “Show Avatars” is checked
    2. Select “Gravatar Logo”

Else, make sure that your User email is set to the email associated with your Gravitar. Your User email may have been set to something different from the admin email.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Still no solution.

Note: When I check my Gravatar account it displays my photo followed by my primary email address ([email protected]). This is the email that appears in my dashboard “General Settings.”

Is there a way to hunt down if there’s another email address associated with my WP.org account that is directly linked to my home webpage that appears in the upper right-hand corner as “Howdy, Rick Diffley (Avatar appears as the standard symbol)?

    Thanks!!

Go to Users –> Your Profile and confirm that the email associated with your Gravatar is the email on your user profile.

When I go to my dashboard > Users > Profile…

The only email that appears is under the “Contact Information.” I don’t see anything regarding the gravatar.

Bluehost support suggested this particular issue is specific to my script’s code and configuration and I need to visit this script’s support site for additional information on what may be causing this problem.

    Anything to this?

    Getting very comfused.

The only email that appears is under the “Contact Information.”

You need to ensure that the email address used here matches the email address you used on gravatar.com.

    Thanks for jumping in…

    From the Gravatar site:
[email protected] (primary)You have selected this email address…

Note: When I pop in to the Gravatar site, this is the same email that is displayed in the upper right hand corner.

    From my Dashboard > Profile
    Contact Info
E-Mail (required) – same as above.

Note: When I try to delete the existing email and re-enter I get this message: ERROR: “This email is already registered, please choose another one.”

I don’t know if this is anything?

I’m running Thesis and I don’t see anything with it regarding my email address related to the gravatar.

Next, when I go into the users section of the dashboard and scroll to my name…

I’m listed with my email address, as a subscriber, with my profile picture as it appears under “Reply” here.

However, I’m also listed as “Rick Diffley” Administrator, but with the standard gravatar symbol, not my profile image.

What would happen *if” I deleted by my users “Rick Diffley” Administrator & re-entered the information (redoing my email & selecting “Administrator?”) Would that really muck up things?

Does this help or provide a path to a solution?

Wish I could simply right click, go to properties and change the link to my image /-:

I’ve really been doing a lot of trouble shooting to resolve this issue and really welcome and thank you for your help!

Your last post sounds like you’re saying you have two separate user accounts on your site: a Subscriber and an Administrator. If your Gravatar isn’t showing for the admin account, check to make sure the proper email is associated with that account. It seems like you aren’t having the issue with your Subscriber account so the problems seems to be lying with the email in the admin account. You don’t want to delete your current admin account unless you create a new one beforehand. I don’t think deleting the account is necessary either way, though.

My only other thoughts would be to maybe delete and re-upload the image in Gravatar or to delete and re-add the email altogether in Gravatar. Since it’s your primary email in Gravatar I’m assuming it has been verified, correct?

If you still are unable to figure it out, it may need looked at in more detail. Let me know if you need anything further.
