Profile page is blank

    Hi,

    I just installed the plugin, and have registered one user using it. The notifications and registration process worked fine. When I log into that new user, though, and go to the Profile page from my menu link, there’s nothing on the page. If I go to Edit my profile from the username on the top right of the screen, I see and can edit all the fields. Since no one else has reported this and it’s pretty basic, I must be doing something wrong.

    The page is coded as follows:
    [wp-members page=”user-profile”]

    Do I need to include something else in order to get the profile fields to show and be editable on that page?

    Update: when I installed the plugin, I got version 2.7.something. I updated to 2.8.2. Now I have an edit link on the profile page. I would still rather have the page go right to the profile, without making people click the edit link, if that’s possible.

    The user profile shortcode offers the user two things – password change and profile update. If you just want to offer them profile update, you can use the user-edit parameter of the page shortcode.

    Keep in mind that if you do that, you are going to need to work in some additional text possibilities for users based on login state. If you just slap the [wp-members page=”user-edit”] shortcode up there, logged out users are going to see a blank form. So this shortcode should be used in combination with the status shortcode [wp-members status=”in”]…[/wp-members]
