Hello,

I use the actual Version of UM, together with the Login Extension. I defined under settings – uploads – Profile Photo Thumbnail Sizes (px) the following values:

40
80
300

for the sizes. When I upload an Photo of 375px x 375px and go to my profile, the photo is shown ok. When I login via the form what I use in the sidebar, the Image is shown round (not squared) and blurry.

When I go to my account, the image is shown squared, that’s correct, but blurry.., seems it gets stretched …

I don’t want to allow then the users to add photos of 1000 px x 1000 px to fill the whole Database

How I can show under Account / Profile the right Image dimensions, means display them smaller, and sharp?

Hi @sallyruchman,

Thanks for the screenshots. Can you please do a conflict test on the theme first and then plugins and see if it is caused by a conflict. You can click the link for directions on the plugin/theme conflict test:

i have done the test. With the Twenty Fifteen Theme the Images are fine. I will contact my Theme Support to check this out.

This board is not meant to provide support for your other plugin either, but those pixel size settings are too low…

I asked for UM Plugin support, not other plugins. As i wrote i will check this with my Theme Support.

The reason I suggested to have that checked out is that, this could be the reason why your images are displayed blurry, thus my reply above.

Did you raise the pixel size and saw if it made any difference??

Can you imagine, what happens with the size of the Database, when every user has to upload an profile image so big, only to show the Image sharp? I will check, if i can display the Images on the profile / account page with max 100px.

Ah… the perennial confusion about images on WordPress. So you believe that the size of an image makes your database larger?

If someone else with Divi Theme experience this problems, here is the code to add in custom.css

um-page-loggedin article img, .um-page-login article img {
width: auto;
max-width: 100%;
}

.um-misc-img img {
width: auto;
}
