    Serious issues across ALL my UM SITES since latest update… fields are going missing from front end profile forms (not for admin, only for users) and fields becoming uneditable for users for no reason. All permissions are set for users to be able edit. Once forms and fields re-updated in dashboard (I’ve done this 20 times on 2 sites since 2 days) they work and can be edited by user only temporarily… and then the fields are blocked again. This is across ALL my sites using UM. What’s happened? Does anyone else have this? I’ve checked for plugin conflcit and no resolve. This is really urgent.

    I understand it’s a volunteer site. I use other forums and give my time freely. Including a UM mutual support group on FB. We try our best and uppercase doesn’t imply shouting or being rude. It’s simply to add emphasis. Are we therefore allowed to use bold text in this forum?

    Believe me… I understand. I answer messages as a volunteer and 3 and 4am. We can all try to speak nicely and not ‘shout’ or discipline in writing. It’s hard to include context or tone in text.

    I apologise for breaking rules using text formatting / uppercase.

    “OK Disable and clear all caching for a test.”

    Thank you… I did this a number of times. I clear cache on site and also clear cookies and history on browser when tester. Now most of my custom fields are blocked to end user.

    @alychef

    What about server side caching by your Web hosting or CDN?

    Look at the Browser web Console if you get any JavaScript errors when editing your profiles. Right button click on your mouse, select Inspect then Console in the Menu.

    @missveronicatv Tons going on here. I don’t understand any of it but it seems to insecure profile elements loading on a secure site. Is it anything to do with the new ‘secure’ tab? I haven’t made any changes and only updated to the new version after the issues started. How do I make the elements secure?

    All the file upload fields have disappeared again.

    You browser found that your Logo image is loaded without SSL ie https://

    Install the “Really Simple SSL” plugin to get all of your site’s content
    to load with SSL ie https://

    Thanks.. I see that. I’ve just examined the logo url but this isn’t the issue connected with the profiles. I have ssl installed and enforce to https.

    @alychef

    We don’t know the impact of non SSL content
    until this error been removed by the “Really Simple SSL” plugin.

    @missveronicatv I’ve just gone through the motions of unisntalling my Let’s Encrypt on my webhosting… and trying to install Real Simple etc… to find it’s the same SSL ‘Let’s Encrypt’ which was already enforced to https. and “The Hosting Panel software was not recognized. Depending on your hosting provider, the generated certificate may need to be installed manually.” presumably because it’s already provide by the host?

    I have both “Let’s Encrypt” for adding the SSL certificates
    and the “Really Simple SSL” plugin for upgrading
    https:// content to https:// at my site.

    (@alychef)

    @missveronicatv resinstalled my original SSL… and went into SG Optimizer to enforce https on website too.. all media now https. No change to custom fields block.

    Are all the caching features in the “SiteGround Optimizer” disabled?

    @missveronicatv

    No media issue

    Custom field issues remain. Users fields blocked. Available only in admin. User fields set to can edit. General settings set to can edit.

    DevTools failed to load source map:

    It’s not our issue, I get the same errors at my site.

    I’m more interested in your “SiteGround Optimizer” plugin settings.

    Thread Starter alychef

    @missveronicatv I don’t know what this means :

    “It’s not our issue, I get the same errors at my site.” ?

    SG is hosting. This isn’t a new installation. The UM issue is happening on other sites for other users. I really appreciate the deep search for what it could be. Much appreciated. But this happened just a couple of days ago. On another site too. I noticed in this forum it’s been mentioned. Would now like me to disable my hosting optimizer that enforced HHTPS
