    Serious issues across ALL my UM SITES since latest update… fields are going missing from front end profile forms (not for admin, only for users) and fields becoming uneditable for users for no reason. All permissions are set for users to be able edit. Once forms and fields re-updated in dashboard (I’ve done this 20 times on 2 sites since 2 days) they work and can be edited by user only temporarily… and then the fields are blocked again. This is across ALL my sites using UM. What’s happened? Does anyone else have this? I’ve checked for plugin conflcit and no resolve. This is really urgent.

    Enable PHP error logging if the debug will give some more info about this issue.

    Read this guide: “How to enable debug logging”

    https://docs.ultimatemember.com/article/1751-enable-debug-logging

    You will probably get a PHP log file with notices and errors in this file when you do the edit tests: .../wp-content/debug.log

    Post the content of this file here in the Forum and we can give you the PHP error explanation. For best formatting use the CODE format.

    Ok thank you will take a look. It seems to be plugin wide and not just related to one site. It’s the same on my other site AND for another person in this forum. Most certainly a UM issue.

    sorry I don’t understand this :

    “The most common cause of a website crash is a PHP error. You can get error details in the file?/wp-content/debug.log. This file contains information about all PHP issues.”

    This isn’t a website issue… it’s a plugin issue. Across more than one site there is the same plugin malfunction. Other users have the same issue.

    @alychef

    To understand your issue PHP may have errors during the processing of the user profile updates. To get this information you must turn on a debug function in PHP. This debug function is logging errors or warnings by PHP to the debug.log file as text messages.

    Yes it’s a plugin issue and we must know where in the UM PHP code this is going wrong.

    I’m afraid I’m not comfortable making changes at this level..I might be better closing the site and starting over with another membership platform. This is causing a lot of customer issues… and lost sleep.

    I have enabled WP Debugging and no files have errors

    @alychef

    I’ve checked for plugin conflcit and no resolve.

    Did you try to use a WordPress basic theme like “Twenty Twenty” or “Twenty Twenty-One”?

    If it helps, it only seems to be a problem with custom fields. It fixes temporarily by unchecking ‘user can edit’ > save > ‘rechecking user can edit’ > save. It’s time limited fix and fails after an hour or so on next log in. EDIT : now even that doesn’t work. All custom fields are uneditable regardless of settings.

    I have tried to reproduce your errors at my site with 100 custom fields without success.

    Yes… as I said… this is not a single website issue. The site is not the problem nor the theme.

    @alychef

    Do you have any WP plugin caching or Web Hosting/CDN caching active at your site?

    “I have tried to reproduce your errors at my site with 100 custom fields without success.”

    I don’t know what this means. But as I said… there appears to be a temporary resolve… it looks like it works. Then on log in later in the day the problem is back. As I said… I am not the only user with this issue and it is not a single site issue.

    Yes… as with all sites.
