    Hello,

    I am building a new website for a client that uses Shopify. I have turned on “Sync Posts” and have resynced the Shopify data. I have also cleared the Shopify cache. However, for some reason I cannot get the products to link to their detail page posts. Is that something you have to do manually or am I missing a step to get them to link and show detail pages for each product?

    Thanks

    Hey there,

    Have you tried resaving your permalinks? Go to Settings -> Permalinks and make sure they’re set to Post name. Click save either way (that’ll clear the rewrite rules).

    Does this work?

    Also, do you have the plugin setting “Disable default pages” checked?

    Hey @andrewmrobbins,

    Thanks. Turns out having the default pages disabled was the issue. Now I am running into another issue.

    I am trying to do a re-sync but it’s not completing. When I look at the Network in my Inspect tool on Chrome, I am getting error messages such as:

    {"code":"rest_no_route","message":"No route was found matching the URL and request method","data":{"status":404}}

    (And the one below I am stuck on repeatedly)

    {"code":"rest_forbidden","message":"You do not have the correct capabilities","data":{"status":401}}

    The actual syncing progress gets stuck at 33% for Products.

    I have already tried to create a new private app in Shopify and use new credentials to see if that was the issue, but it did not help. Any ideas what could be going on?

    Thanks

    @andrewmrobbins Ignore the part in the previous post about syncing issues. Everything synced just fine today. I guess there must’ve been either a network issue on my end or something going on with the Shopify API that day. Thanks!

    Excellent, glad to hear you got it working! Yeah sometimes network issues can affect the syncing — especially webhost firewalls or password protected sites.

    Let me know if you run into anything additional issues, happy to help!

    Hi, I have the same problem.

    I have checked Settings / Permalinks is set to post name and i pressed save
    The shopify plugin setting “Disable default pages” is checked
    I have cleared the shopify plugin cache
    I’ve removed all synced data.
    I am testing in Chrome incognito mode, and hitting ctrl-shift-r to clear cache in between too.

    My links are pointing to website/

    How do I fix please and thank you?

    @robwelanvv This is your issue:

    The shopify plugin setting “Disable default pages” is checked

    Uncheck that, click save, then save your permalinks again. That should fix it.

    This has not solved the problem.
    Now I have ‘disable default pages’ unchecked. I have saved. I have cleared the WP Shopify cache.
    I have gone to Settings / Permalinks. I have clicked numeric and saved. I have then changed back to post name and clicked save.

    No change to WP shopify link behaviour.

    @robwelanvv Do you have Sync posts enabled?

    I don’t know if this answers your question. this is my settings which I think is what you’re asking:
    On Settings\Sync Type, ‘sync posts’ radio is selected.

    @robwelanvv Hmm can you send me a link to your main products page?

    this page ‘works’ but we don’t use it:
    https://aspiregallery.com.au/collectors/

    this is an example page using short-codes built using the shopify visual builder (check the images directly under the ‘Framed Originals’ heading specifically:

    thanks!

    @robwelanvv Thanks for sticking with me.

    Just finished taking a look. It looks like your products might have the Products link to Shopify setting enabled. Can you go into the plugin settings (under general) and make sure this is not enabled?

    Also can you provide the shortcode you’re using?

    Hi Andrew, we want the ‘products link to shopify’ setting enabled. when a potential buyer clicks on an item, we want them to be redirected to shopify. what is the correct way to do this?

    here is an example short code as requested:
    [wps_collections title=”cam power” products_sort_by=”manual” single=”true” excludes=”title, image, description” products_add_to_cart_button_color=”#cf2e2e” products_title_color=”#262626″ products_title_size=”18px” products_description_color=”#525252″ products_description_length=”400″ products_align_height=”true” products_items_per_row=”3″ products_show_price_range=”false” products_page_size=”16″ products_hide_quantity=”true”]

    @robwelanvv Ok try doing this:

    Go into the plugin settings and turn off Sync posts (enable Lite sync instead). You’ll want to turn this off since you’re not using the product detail pages in WP.

    Then, make sure the Products link to Shopify setting is enabled.

    Finally, go to the plugin tools and use the Clear Cache button.

    Does that fix it?

    Hi Andrew, the result is that clicking a link takes us to a new tab which opens the page we were on. Requirement is to open the shopify shop. You can see result here: https://aspiregallery.com.au/for-collectors/ash-mcfarlane/
