• Hey everyone,

i’m googling since days, without luck… so I hope someone here can help me.

We sell hats in diffrent shapes and colours. Some of theme are sized unisex, but I want them displayed in diffrent categories and with male/female models.

At the moment we have two different variable products (colour) for the same hat, in different categories and with different product images… and with two stocks. So we have to update manually, when one of them is running out.

Anyone an idea how to solve this? With variations?

    Thanks Tom

  • I suggest to have the gender as part of the variation alongside with the color, and add different products by shape. Then in your product photos, display product styles for both men and women. That way, you’ll have 1 stock only for any gender and color for every type (size) of hat.

    Hope this helps!

    Hey there,

should work like this. It’s not 100% like I wanted to, but should work like this… and it’s much easier to manage the stocks.

    Thanks for the fast reply!

Your welcome Tom! Glad I could help you out.

    Hello Tom,

Are you looking for better solution? If yes then feel free to contact me to [email protected]. We’ve developed plugin something similar that may helpful to you.

This plugin allows you to create new product type let say “shared stock” that you can use for child product. So when the child product(Female shirt) is ordered then the stock of parent(Unisex shirt) will be deducted. Child product will also acquire other metafields from it’s parent product like price, color, etc.

Is this something would work better for you? Let me know.

    Thanks,
