Products “reserved” until payment recieved

    I have a woo shop that sells single item products (all one-of-a-kind so stock quantity is 1), there is an option to pay by cheque. when this is selected I would like to not show the item as “sold” I would like it to say “reserved” until full payment is received.

    Any ideas/pugins that would facilitate this setup? thanks in advance

    Hi,

    I think a good option would be to use this plugin: https://www.woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-pre-orders/. You customers can pre-order a product and then be charged once the product becomes available.

    Then all you would need to do is use Loco Translate to change the text from Add to cart to Reserve. Once the customer “reserves” the product the stock will go from 1 to 0 (if you have product inventory enabled) and will display the message that it is no longer for sale. You can also edit that message to show “reserved” so that it cannot be purchased. If the customer does not pay for the product, you can simply cancel the pre-order and the item will return to stock.

    This is a bit different than what you originally asked as this is not set in motion by selecting a certain payment method, but I think it’s a good solution that does not require any customization.
