Products page NOT sorting by sales, and NOT conforming to cropping of images

When going to Appearance > Customize > Woocommerce > Product page, I set the sort order to ‘Popularity (sales)’, it is definitely not sorting by that. Some products it lists first have NEVER sold.
When I go to Woocommerce > Reports > Sales by product, this report gives an accurate list order of sales.

Additionally, in Appearance > Customize > Woocommerce > Product Images, I try setting cropping to 1:1, which works for SOME products, but some are full sized images, and extend into others. See: https://ibb.co/rdxPHvr
