Products keep disappearing from cart after being added

Hi,
My client is complaining saying that whenever her customers add products to the cart, the products disappear from the cart when the customer goes to continue shopping for other products. She says that this seems to be an issue when customers are purchasing products using a smartphone.
The other strange thing that is happening is that there are store notices that repeatedly say that “____ is a required field”. For example:
- “Size” is a required field.
- “Size” is a required field.
