Using the ‘flexible shipping’ plugin with ‘woocommerce currency switcher’ and just like in your documentation, integration works well. Trouble is, products are bought (and stored) in USD whereas our shipping costs are specified (and fixed) in our local currency, Tanzanian Shillings. If I store both in USD or Tsh, all works splendid, but we will incur losses when currency fluctuates.

So to be clear, I’d like to enter product value in USD and calculate the shilling value, and the shipping costs (by weight) in Tsh and calculate dollar value.

Am I wanting the impossible? Is there a simple modification that can be done?

  • Hi,

This is the kind of function that WooCommerce Currency Switcher might provide. Flexible Shipping is currency-neutral.

Thanks Szymon, for getting back. It works with that plugin, if I add the shipping rates in the main (USD) currency. Flawlessly, indeed Flexible Shipping calculates both currencies right. Just wondered if I could peg the products in USD and the shipping in Shillings, to overcome exchange fluctuations, but probably technically impossible. Indeed conversion does not happen in your plugin.

Again though, thanks for getting back
