Products don’t delete from feed
-
Hi!
The problem is that when products are removed or hidden from Woocommerce they still remain in the product feed. Also when searching certain products in Facebook Business Manager Commerce Manager’s Catalog->Items they are not found. But when you go to Catalog->Data Sources->WooCommerce Integration->Items and search from there the products are found.
The plugin is version 2.6.5.
The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @oskariuotinen,
It’s interesting that you’re finding the items are still in the feed once removed or updated on your site. Have you happened to try using Marketing > Facebook > Product Sync to manually sync again? Let us know if that has any effect.
Link to image: https://d.pr/i/XYynUVAre you seeing the deleted items in your shop on your Facebook page, or only in the feed via Business Manager?
Thanks!
Hi!
Deleted items are to be seen also when tagging on the Facebook page. The Facebook shop we haven’t published.
Actually I figured out that some of those deleted products seem to point to urls of our development site, which was then changed to the current one. Other deleted or private products still seem to point to our production site. For example the product that is marked as private in WooCommerce, (and the Facebook sync status seems to be “Do not sync”).
Now there are three questions 1) Why am I not seeing the synced products in the feed? But when you go to Catalog->Data Sources->WooCommerce Integration->Items and search from there the products are found.
2) Why are private or deleted products syncing to Facebook?
3) How can we get rid of the products that are left there after we changed the url of the site from the development url to the production one.
Hello @oskariuotinen ,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with the Facebook for WooCommerce extension.
1) Why am I not seeing the synced products in the feed? But when you go to Catalog->Data Sources->WooCommerce Integration->Items and search from there the products are found.
I believe this is on the Facebook Business Manager, right?
I’m not entirely sure why the products don’t show in the feed. Do you see the published and synced products not found in the feed?
2) Why are private or deleted products syncing to Facebook?
Did you have this product on the development site and synced at that time?
I will recommend to “Enable debug mode” from Marketing > Facebook > Connection page and see the logs under WooCommerce > Status > Logs page after trying manual sync. Check if the private products are being synced now. If not, they might have been synced earlier from the development site.
3) How can we get rid of the products that are left there after we changed the url of the site from the development url to the production one.
You can manually delete the products from the catalog that were synced when you were on the development URL.
If recreating the catalog is an option you can remove all products from the catalog using this code or manually delete them. Then you can re-sync to see if something is missing.
Let me know if you have any more queries about it.
Thank you!
Hi,
Thanks for your response.
I believe this is on the Facebook Business Manager, right?
I’m not entirely sure why the products don’t show in the feed. Do you see the published and synced products not found in the feed?
Yes, in Business Manager. In that place I see the products not shown in the feed.
If not, they might have been synced earlier from the development site.
They seem not to sync via manually syncing, according to log. But the url points to the production site.
If recreating the catalog is an option you can remove all products from the catalog using this code or manually delete them. Then you can re-sync to see if something is missing.
Manually deleting the problematic products is not an option, as there are hundreds of products. By recreating you mean using the same feed, but first emptying it and re-syncing, right? I ask this because there are multiple campaigns running and paused in Facebook Ads Manager, and it would take time to go through every one of them to change the catalog used in the campaigns.
Hi,
If possible answer soon, please ??
@rur165 can you please reply. Also, if I recreate the catalog, what happens to the campaigns that are running with the products or product sets?

Hi @oskariuotinen!
To get this done, I would suggest following the next steps:
1. Before deleting the product or hide it from your website, delete the products on Facebook by clicking on this option.
2. Delete the product or draft it on your website.By following that, you will ensure that the product is no longer showing in your shop’s catalog from now on.

Thanks. But did you read my questions at all?
Hello!
Thanks for your reply. My colleague’s recommendation is likely the best option to remove those hidden products from syncing again. That process mentioned would need to be done within the product settings for the products you want to exclude from Facebook. This will prevent the specific product(s) from being synced with the Facebook shop. Since it’s product-specific it should not affect any campaigns being run for other products.
There is another option as well. We have a plugin that can be used to completely reset your site’s connection by removing all products and allowing you to set up the plugin as a new connection. You can download this plugin to run this process. I only recommend using this as a last resort since it completely resets the connection between the two and will likely empty the Facebook Shop catalog.
I hope this helps!
Thanks. It seems that deleting the products from Facebook catalog is not an option, as Facebook doesn’t allow it (greyed out, because it is uploaded via feed).
So the only option seems to be resetting the connection. I understand that it shouldn’t affect pixel, if the connection is established again? So all the user interactions collected via pixel remain? What about the tagged products in Facebook posts?
Hi @oskariuotinen,
I understand that it shouldn’t affect pixel, if the connection is established again? So all the user interactions collected via pixel remain?
That’s correct. You’ll get to choose the same pixel you have already created before when you re-connect your website to Facebook again.
What about the tagged products in Facebook posts?
I’m not entirely sure if I understand this question correctly. Do you mean here the products that were deleted or the products that will be fed to your Facebook catalog again?
Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
Thanks.

I mean the products that are fed to Facebook catalog again.
Hi @oskariuotinen,
What about the tagged products in Facebook posts?
According to Facebook, any associated product tags will also be removed from your Facebook and Instagram posts. You can learn more about this here.
Hi, thanks for your support. Catalog is now recreated.
One more question: Shouldn’t the integration work so that if we delete or mark product private or as draft in WooCommerce, it doesn’t show for example in Catalog ads campaigns? So when product is deleted, drafted or marked as private, does the product remove from Catalog?
Hi @oskariuotinen !
I totally understand what you mean; we don’t have an ETA if this feature will be added to the upcoming extension releases, but in the meantime, I am glad to know that by recreating the catalog, you were able to get this resolved.
