Products Disappear Frequently in Shop

Very often all of my products disappear from my Woo Commerce Shop page on my website https://therailroadpress.com/shop/ until I go to my dashboard and click on Woo Commerce. It happens almost every day. I am running Storefront. Thank you!

For eg: Do you see a pattern in how this can be replicated? Or the exact workflow to bring those products back?Also, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.

Sure, every once in a while, for no apparent reason, all of the products disappear from my shop page on Homefront. Sometimes it is one day, sometimes it is good for a week or so. Very random. My products still appear in the product-category pages like …

… where are sorted out. It’s only on the main shop page that they disappear. I can bring them back by going to my dashboard and just clicking on the WooCommerce tab. Then when I go back to the shop page, they are there again. There is nothing that I actually do on the WooCommerce tab, just have to be there.

Endurance Browser Cache: by Mike Hansen – 0.4 Endurance Page Cache: by Mike Hansen – 1.5It looks like they’ve been added by your hosting provider. Can you please reach out to them and request them to completely disable caching on your site to see if that fixes the behavior for you?

Nope, I had to get them back up so the customers could see them. I simply logged on to Bluehost, went to the dashboard and clicked the WooCommerce tab. Voila! They all reappeared. I will check with them about the things you asked me after work, Sorry for the bother.

https://therailroadpress.com/shop/ does display all the products now, but that seems to be because you tried the workaround.

Everything disappeared again this morning. I noticed that all I have to do to get them back is to log into my domain’s Wprd[ress dashboard, and the shop is repopulated, I don’t have to click on the woocommmerce tab. Also, the SHOP page is the only one affected… the pages that list the products by categories are fine, so the problem (bug?) seems to be only with the code on the shop page, I would think. I hope my input helps — I’ve searched this problem on google and apparently I am not the only person experiencing this. Thanks again!

I’m not sure I understand what you mentioned about logging in to your WordPress site and the shop is repopulated. What actions did you take after logging in?

When my shop items disappear, I go to my bluehost account and login. Then I click on my therailroadpress.com domain and it takes me to my wordpress dashboard where I can build and make changes to my wordpress website. Once I am there, I don’t have to do anything — my shop page is back to being fully functional.
The reason that the shop page looks fine when you go there is that whenever I see the products have disappeared, I need to get them back right away because it’s the busy selling season, and I can’t afford to be down.
The generally only disappear once a day… and it is usually, but not always, in the morning. Once I bring them back, they are generally good for the day, but I check them periodically. The items did disappear after tech support at bluehost cleared the cache, as requested, and have disappeared twice since then. They have not disappeared the past two days, however, but I will keep you informed. Happy Holidays, and thank you for your help!!!

Thank you for getting back to us with your findings.
If you do notice similar behavior in the future, it is likely that there is either a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.

The best way to determine this is to:
?- Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
- Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
- Repeat the action that is causing the problem
If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

Yes, it disappeared again, so I will try that out. I am going to have to find some time to do it,and I want to make sure that I don’t have any critical plugins that are in use. I am very happy with my site and want to make sure that I don’t mess anything up. Happy new year!!!
