product_url column is empty

    Hi! I’m trying to export products with a number of columns, including the product_url column, but when I open the csv in a spreadsheet program, the product_url column is empty. I’ve tried it in a couple of different spreadsheet programs, so it’s not that; the data simply isn’t making it into the csv.

    Please let me know what further information you need from me to get this figured out. Many thanks!

    Thanks for reaching out to us.

    To better assist you, could you confirm if the products you’re trying to export are external/affiliate products? The “product_url” field in the export file contains data for external products. If the products are set as “Simple” or another type, this field may be empty.

    Ohhhh I thought it would return the URL the product was at on the website, not an external URL. That makes sense, thank you.

    Is there a way to export product data that would include its local URL?

    Thank you for your response.

    If you’re looking to include the URL of the product page you can use the product_page_url field in the export mapping screen. This field populates the link to the product on your website, and should give you exactly what you’re after.
