Product Tag sending question

    Hi!

    Great plugin! I noticed you added a great feature in the paid version, sending product tags.
    I would like to ask how does that work because there is no default field on facebook’ end for “tags”.
    Also we use multiple ones, is the plugin sends all of them? Is facebook capable of storing multiple values per field?

    Hello Tony,

    Thank you for your question! The Category and Tag tracking works on taxonomy names and slugs. WordPress comes with support for 2 types of taxonomies: Categories and Tags. Plugins and Themes can add more taxonomies as well.

    Each value a taxonomy can have is made up of a name (a basic human readable value) and a slug. An example would be “WP Facebook Pixel” with a slug of “wp-facebook-pixel”.

    When you decide you wish to track a type of taxonomy, WP Facebook Pixel logs the taxonomy name and the related slugs of the post, page or custom post type viewed. If the post, page or custom post type has multiple taxonomy values selected, all values would be passed to Facebook.

    Next week we will be publishing more in-depth documentation to describe this amazing, set and forget feature, but this should give you an idea of how it works for now. Once we publish we will add a link here so you can take a look.
