While the sync does seem to be adding new products and updating products as well if pricing or descriptions change, it is not removing old products that have since been made drafts or have been completely deleted from WooCommerce. Unfortunately, I am not able to remove them from the FB catalog manually because they were added through this plugin. We now have a very messy catalog and it is requiring a lot of manual touches to prevent old and discontinued product from being displayed in ads on FB and Instagram. I need a way to clean this up, the only other option right now is to start over which is not ideal. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi @daneolson89,

In cases where the products are set to draft or entirely deleted, some orphan products will remain on the FB catalog.

The best option to remove all products from Facebook is to delete your Facebook catalog, then disconnect and reconnect the Facebook for WooCommerce extension.

To delete a catalog, please follow the steps below:

    • Go to Commerce Manager.
    • In the “Catalogues” section, click on “Manage list”
    • Select the catalog that you want to delete.
    • Click on the “Delete” button then confirm by clicking “Delete”

I hope this helps so far!

    All the best,
    Omar

@omarfpg Thank you for the info!

We will start fresh a fresh catalog. Questions however on what is best practice so that we do not have to continuously delete and start over with our catalog.

What triggers the products from being removed from the catalog, or moved to archive? I am seeing new products being added to the archive if they are not set to sync but then when I change to “sync and show” they then are active. Does this work in reverse as well through the plugin?

If we need to deactivate or remove products, what is the best first step? Should we be setting them to “hide” before we turn them into drafts?

    I appreciate your help. Thanks.

    Hi @daneolson89!

Thank you for reaching out back.

Questions however on what is best practice so that we do not have to continuously delete and start over with our catalog.

That’s a good question. Here are some things that could help to remove products from Facebook and have a smooth experience:

    1. Keep up to date with the latest versions of WordPress, WooCommerce, and Facebook for WooCommerce.?

    2. Before you remove, hide or send to draft a product, select the?Sync and hide in catalog?option, which you find when editing a product in?Product data?->?Facebook -> Facebook sync.

    Image link: https://i.ibb.co/x2GVzGZ/nkafnk.png

    3. Select the?Reset Facebook Metadata?option in the Facebook Product Sync section (see the image above); this way, your product will be treated as if it was to the Facebook shop and thus will re-sync based on the current product data in your WooCommerce store.

    4. Hit the?Update?button to save changes.

    5. Go to Marketing -> Facebook -> Product Sync and press the?Sync products?button.

You also want to be sure the product you want to hide is not inside any Product set.

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks @judagutor,

I followed your instruction and I am unable to get a product to be removed from the catalog. It is a variant of a product. Is that part of the problem? I tried to hide, reset, manually synced… etc and it is still sitting in my catalog. Thoughts?

Does this plugin also update stock quantities and price on products already moved to the catalog? We had the incorrect price on a product and I tried to have the integration update it in the catalog by changing the “facebook price” in the product in Woo, but I am not seeing that change happening in the catalog. In addition, I updated quanitites and had no success either. Is there something I am missing?

    Thanks for the help.

    ?? hey @daneolson89

An additional inventory field is required for checkout to let buyers know when products are running low or out of stock. In order to set up your product inventory, stock management must first be enabled for WooCommerce. Confirm this setting is checked under?WooCommerce >?Settings > Products > Inventory.

To clarify, is this setting checked currently, or not?

Occasionally, deleting or resetting all products from the Facebook catalog and then letting things sync again is the only way to fix strange issues. This requires a code snippet, which you can?read more about here.

I hope this is helpful! Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.
We will be happy to help you further.

    Yes, the setting is enabled.

Unable to get anything to update after a product has been added to the catalog. Not sure what benefit this plugin is providing aside from populating the catalog. It is very frustrating to not be able to manage the catalog from Woo but then be restricted from removing any product from the catalog since it was added via the integration.

Is it possible to setup a screen share or do a call? Certainly this plugin should work better than what I am experiencing.

    Thanks

    Hello daneolson89

    Thank you for you reply.

Since the setting is enabled, I suspect there might be a problem with the connection between WooCommerce and Facebook.

Therefore, I will suggest resetting the Facebook Catlog.
You can read more about it here:
    https://woo.com/document/facebook-for-woocommerce-delete-or-reset-all-facebook-products/

I understand your frustration because the plugin is working not at its full potential. Please try resetting the Facebook catalog and that might fix the connection issue. After that, you will utilize the plugin to its full potential.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. ??

    Best regards.
