Product slugs not changing after manual slug rename

I am using wordpress 4.7.4 with woocommerce 3.0.5

what i did:
i have many t-shirts on my site and i build a template product so all i have to do is update the product photo. for example “Guy’s t-shirt” the slug being “guys-shirt” then i save the product and then duplicate it and change the name to the products real name. for example “Guy’s Chatterbox” slug being “guys-chatterbox”. this change is seen in quick edit and edit menu.

what happens customer end:

when the customer orders a t-shirt. for example the buy “guys-chatterbox” it shows in the shopping cart as “guy-shirt” which would bring us back to the original name i made the template out of.

what i have tried to do:
rename each slug to match the title of the product

nothing changes any advice would be great. i can’t see myself making a individual product listing for the total of 100+ designs i have.
