Product review returns blank page: /wp-comments-post.php

    Hello,
    When a user attempts to leave a product review on my site, it just goes to a blank page: wp-comments-post.php

    I have tried disabling all plugins except Woocommerce, and also changing theme, but this does not resolve the problem.

    My hosting provider says they cannot find an issue their end, and has suggested I contact Woocommerce. Since I do not have a paid subscription my only option seems to be posting on this forum, so I hope someone can help me.

    I am not techy AT ALL and some of the posts about this kind of issue are way over my head. But as far as I can tell it has something to do with the file directory / htaccess, though my hosting provider has not been helpful in this regard.

    Even if I could have something to suggest to my hosting provider (I cannot access the file directory myself), that would be a great help.

    Howdy Mike,

    With very little information to go by, I can only guess. First, I tried to recreate this issue on my test site, where only WooCommerce and Storefront are active. I’m not able to recreate it, which makes me think its something specific to your site.

    The URL of the page that is returned empty after trying to leave a review on your site, looks like so:
    https://happybackcompany.com/wp-comments-post.php?v=d2cb7bbc0d23

    The only clue there is the v=d2cb7bbc0d23 at the end of the URL, which is added when you select “Geolocate (with page caching support)” under WP Admin ? WooCommerce ? Settings ? Default Customer Location:

    I would suggest trying the other options (No location by default, Shop base address, or Geolocate) to see if that makes a difference. Whilst sorting out this issue you should also disable any caching, be they plugins or server-level, to rule that out as a possible cause as well.

    Give it go and let us know how it goes.

    IT WORKED!!!

    Thank you so much, I’ve spent literally hours trying to figure this out.

    I changed the settings to just Geolocate, and now the review function works fine.
