    Hello,

Sometimes when I make refunds, even though at order notes I get the message that stock level increased 0->1, the only thing that changes is stock status as “in stock”, but product count remains “0”.
We have only variable products on our website.

This issue is causing errors in our inventory, because products appear as in stock, but with value 0.

    Hello schero86

Thank you for contacting Woo support.

To confirm, is this issue happening with some of the refunded orders or with all the refunded orders?

Could you share the order notes of the affected orders?
I want to review if there is anything unusual there.

To help you further, I’d like to review your site’s System Status Report.
You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Then, you can paste the text in https://paste.mozilla.org and change the expiry to 1 week.
After that, you can paste the generated link here in your reply.

Looking forward to your response. ??

    Best regards.

This happens only with some of the refunded orders maybe 1 from 100.

I have no explanation why this is happening, as “restock refunded products” is always checked.

In order notes I always get the message ex. “Stock levels have increased: Hania Dress, with floral print and collar bow – XL (ZRU92-04) 0→1”

But it is strange that the product gets “In stock” value, while quantity remains “0”

    Hey, @schero86!

Do you see any similarities between the orders with this issue? It can be same/similar products, same payment method, etc.

Do you have any plugin that interferes with the stock?

Can you please go to WooCommerce > Status > Logs and see if there are any fatal errors on the same date as those refunds. If there are, can you share them here with us?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hello,

Problem still persists and I found one order where this happened.

There were 2 products, one got restocked from 0 to 1 and stock status changed to “in stock”.
The other product remained with stock “0” and only the stock status changed to “in stock”.

In order notes I see following messages:
    – The stock of item #64684 has been increased from to 1 – here the problem
    – The stock of item #72436 has been increased from 0 to 1 – here ok

So at first item, it doesn’t say that “from 0 to 1”, it says “from to 1”

    Hello schero86

Thank you for contacting Woo support.

To confirm, has this problem occurred only once in the past two months?
I am assuming this because we have not heard from you in the past two months.
Nevertheless, I will be happy to help you resolve this issue. ??

There have been several updates to WooCommerce recently.
Could you share the latest SSR of your site?

Once I have more information, I will assist you further.

    Best regards.

    Hey @schero86!

    Thanks for the System Report.

Do you know if any of your plugins affect the stock?

Can you please confirm if all the orders that had this issue used the same payment gateway or not?
    Which payment gateways were used?

Some payment gateways have an automatic and a manual refund. Can confirm which one you used?

Please go to WooCommerce > Status > Logs and search for any Fatal Errors on the same date as this order that had the issue.
You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

There is no error log about this.
I also use BEAR?– WooCommerce Bulk?Edit? And?Products?Manager Professional
Payment method is Cash on deliver, manual refund.

    Hello schero86

    Thank you for your reply.

After reviewing the SSR you shared I noticed a few plugins that might be interacting with order data and modifying the default WooCommerce function.

1- Custom Order Status for WooCommerce
2- F4 Total Stock Value for WooCommerce
3- RD Order Modifier for WooCommerce
4- BEAR – Bulk Editor and Products Manager

It would be best to set up a staging site to diagnose this issue effectively.
You may ask your web host if they provide a staging site feature or you can use the WP Staging plugin.
Once we have a staging site we could perform a conflict test to check what is causing the problem.

Please let me know if you have any questions. ??

    Best regards.
