I started creating product pages with WooBlocks from Pootlepress. Things were fine to start but as I added more products my Cloudways VPS CPU started hitting 100%.
I’ve also tried other product page builder but the same thing happens again as soon as I go to edit or view a product the server goes into overdrive.
Cloudways my server host have tried help, WordPress have said its a plugin issue and has basically has been no help.
I have had a developer go through my server cleaning up the database and optimising settings and cache.
Currently, I’m in the same position and no further forward.
Woocommerce works if I’m happy not to use any page builders plugins which seeing I’m selling photography fine art does not fit my purpose for the store.
After 5 weeks of issues, I’m at a dead end and looking at having to look away from Woocommerce at other options.
Any help or advice would be appreciated although I’ve tried pretty much everything inc changing the theme, disabling plugins etc etc.

From what I gather, you’d like to have a photography site for displaying your art and utilize WooCommerce for selling it. Correct?

Instead of getting into plugin selection first, let’s focus on theme selection. Linked here is a total of 711 themes tagged with “Photography”, in the WordPress repository. One of them would be a suitable start; otherwise, I suggest going with Twenty Twenty-Three or Storefront, for extra flexibility and compatibility.

Once the theme is selected, WooCommerce is providing a basic layout for the Product, Shop, Cart & Checkout pages. If you opted for Twenty Twenty-Three, then the template files can be further customized. See here, for the related documentation.

To further customize, or add to, the pages of the site, feel free to explore Block Patterns.

Furthermore, use?WooCommerce blocks?to design custom pages that put your customers in the right mindset to buy. Create custom landing and lead generation pages, and design product catalog pages that speak visually and effectively to your customers.?

All the aforementioned functionality comes out-of-the-box with WordPress and WooCommerce, and provides a great start for putting together your dream-site on the screen, without worrying about CPU spikes.

I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know. We’re happy to help.

    Hi Thanks for reply.

I’ve been using Oshin theme for my site for approx 6 years .

I’ve tried other themes to see if this was the issue but unfortunately the same problem exists. Simon

    Hi there @prophotoinsights

Just to clarify, when were the CPU usage spikes occurring? When visitors were visiting pages created using WooBlocks from Pootlepress, when you were creating those pages, or otherwise?

While investigating things further, I stumbled upon this forum post. Is that the same site you need help in this forum thread also, or another one? My asking is, since that one returns a security certificate warning, as showcased in the screenshot linked here.

Just to note, the information I shared in my previous response here are geared towards enabling you to create a site as much dependency-free as possible, also eliminating the CPU usage spikes in the process.

To help you further, I’d like to understand more about your setup.

Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

Once you’ve done that, you can paste the text in https://gist.github.com/.

You can paste the Gist link here in your reply, once you have that.
