@pagearabia thanks for your topic. A few questions:

    1) Could you tell us which version of the plugin you are using?

    2) From the Dashboard, under Tools > Site Health > Status, could you ensure that your site can perform loopback requests (found under “passed test” if true)?

    3) Your issue sounds similar to this one which we’ve determined might be related to a plugin or module that is stripping HTML comments. We have a fix planned for 1.5.0, but could you let us know if you’re using an optimization plugin that does this for you? (I see references to WP Rocket in your source code, but want to make sure).

@pagearabia just a quick update that another user encountered the same error recently. If you have a chance, could you try the 1.5.0-alpha build (amp.zip) available here:

    https://github.com/ampproject/amp-wp/pull/4404#issuecomment-600834352

It includes the fix that will be available in 1.5.0-RC1 (pre-release) later this week and when the final 1.5.0 version is released later this month.

Please let us know if this fixes the issue for you.

I am actually using WP Rocket

You appear to have installed the AMP plugin incorrectly. It is currently installed in the amp1 directory, but it needs to be placed in a directory named amp. Please rename the directory. This is important for WordPress plugin auto-updates.

@pagearabia thanks for the update. From the message you provided, it sounds like you may have another copy of a file called “amp.zip” on your (computer) device. The download you uploaded may have had a “1” appended to it.

Could you deactivate and delete this version, update the file name to be just “amp.zip”, and upload and activate it again from the plugins page?

@pagearabia I’m unable to see any AMP URLs on your site at present. Were you able to get this resolved?
