This is likely because the CSV file contains some HTML, and is blocked by your server.

You may want to try one of the workarounds posted under Fix WooCommerce Import Error “Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons” to get that resolved.

Thanks Aashik but it didn’t way it was a security reason.
I think I have figured it out – there was a draft product in the export. Once I deleted the draft product it uploaded fine.

Good to hear you’ve figured it out! The draft product alone shouldn’t be a problem though unless it was the one containing HTML.

Should this happen again try adding define( 'ALLOW_UNFILTERED_UPLOADS', true ); in the wp-config.php file or use the Disable Real MIME Check plugin and enable it only when you need to upload a CSV file.
