    Hi everyone!

So when I open an individual product, main picture and gallery pictures are too large, It seems to be scaled up in equal proportions. I also tried to go to Customize > woocommerce > product images and changed the main image width there but no luck.

I’ve deactivated all plugin but woocommerce, it stills shown too large. And I tried other theme, 2024, oceanWP, the product images are still large. So I’m guess something issues with woocommerce.

Is there a way how I can make my images smaller?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Hi @okekrr,

I understand that you’re having issues with the size of your product images.

The size of your product images is primarily determined by your theme’s settings. Even though you’ve tried adjusting the settings in WooCommerce > Customize > Product Images, it’s possible that your theme is overriding these settings.

In order to have a better understanding of this issue, are you able to share screenshots on how you’re able to view the images from your end? This is how I can view the images from my end, and I’m unsure how you’d like the images to appear.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hi @ckadenge,

    Thank you for your reply.

You just see the image is normal since I use a plugin named WooThumbs for WooCommerce by Iconic.

But you can see my frontstore website now or see this screenshot.

I of course hope solve this issues without any plugin.

    best regards.

    Hey, @okekrr!

I checked your website and noticed you use Elementor, correct?

To confirm, when you disabled all plugins and tried other themes, have you also disabled Elementor?

The reason I’m asking is because as you can see on the screenshot below, the product image is being handled by Elementor:

If the issue persists even with Elementor deactivated, please let us know so we can assist you further.

But if it doesn’t, it is better to contact them so they can take a look and help you out with this ??

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi @okekrr,

Thank you for your message. The way the products are displayed depends mostly on the theme you’re using (Astra, in this case), and maybe other plugins as well. However, as I understand, is this happening to you with any theme and without any other plugins disabled? Did you try this at the same time?

Could you set up a Staging site to review this, so we can see your site with only a default theme like Storefront or Twenty Twenty-Four and WooCommerce active? You can ask your hosting provider if they provide this functionality or use a plugin like WP Staging to set up one on your own quickly.

Additionally, have you reached out to the Astra support to learn more about this just in case?

    Cheers!

    Hello MeikoJames,

    Thank you for your reply.

I reviewed the website, and it appears that the page template is causing the large image size.
You said that you disabled all plugins except for WooCommerce and switched to the Twenty Twenty-Four theme.

Could you repeat that step and allow me to check the site afterward?
If this isn’t feasible on the live site, I recommend setting up a staging site.

Looking forward to your response. ??

    Best regards.

    Hi @doublezed2 ,

    Sorry to bother you.

I don’t know whether you noticed my front store now. It shows the same.

    You can check this.

I have to recover the website back since I am applying for a credit card payment method.

Or I’ll use a plugin WP Staging?to set up one on my own quickly later.

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Best regards.

    Hello MeikoJames,

    Thank you for your reply.

I can see the screenshot and the product image looks slightly different in size as compared to the last theme.

I need to check the website code so I can compare that to my test site.
Please let me know when the staging site is ready.

Looking forward to your response. ??

    Your staging site is password-protected.
Please remove the password protection from the staging site and let me know so I can check it.

Please be careful, do not share any kind of login info here in the public forum.
Not even of the staging site.

Looking forward to your response. ??

    Hi @okekrr

I just checked out your staging site and can confirm that the product image displays perfectly on my end.

If it shows differently on your end, a good first step to troubleshooting this would be to try clearing your browser’s cache. This can often help in resolving general site loading or performance issues.

You can follow our detailed guide on clearing browser cache here: https://wordpress.com/support/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache

Additionally, head over to WooCommerce → Status → Tools, and do the following:

    • WooCommerce transients – Clear
    • Expired transients – Clear
    • Clear template cache – Clear
    • Capabilities – Reset Capabilities
    • Clear customer sessions -Clear
    • Product lookup tables – Regenerate
    • Regenerate the product attributes lookup table – Regenerate

Next, please clear your browser and site cache and check again.

I hope this helps! Please let us know how it goes or if you need further assistance.
