Product images are served at full size on every viewport

    Hi, 

    Unless i am mistaken the srcset on the single product layout / product page doesn’t work on any store. 

    Looking at my website or one of your demo store like: https://copenhagen.merchantsbestfriends.com/product/chair-marta/

    Images are downloaded at full size even on mobile causing poor LCP scores on every page speed benchmarks.  

    Is there a fix to this or something I am missing ?

    I checked the site’s source code and both images are labelled as a product gallery for some reason.

    Seems like a theme-related problem, have you tried switching to Storefront?

    Hi Saif,

    The site above is not my website but one of the demo websites randomly found in your theme store.

    I originally contacted my theme developer (Kadence). They told me that they could reproduce the issue too, not only on the Kadence theme but also on other WooCommerce stores.

    When i switch my website to Storefront I get the same result as here. No srcset, a single image i served on every viewport.

    I checked the Storefront demo you linked and I can see the single product image is resized with srcset.

    You can try moving your site to a staging environment and disabling all plugins to scratch the possibility of this being a plugin conflict.

    If that doesn’t work, I recommend contacting your theme author again and sharing this with them. Alternatively, you can hire a developer for further assistance from here.
