• I think this is a simple question that hopefully, anyone can answer. When clicking on the product image and the images in the product gallery I would like them to open in a lightbox rather than just switching images and zooming when hovering. I am fairly sure this is how it worked many moons ago but it seemed to have changed and I don’t know how to disable it. TIA!

  • This is how the new gallery slider and zoom works. If you don’t want the sliding effect you would have to remove ‘add_theme_support( ‘wc-product-gallery-slider’ );’ from your theme. Just ask the theme developers how to achieve this.

Thank you very much for your reply. It is a free theme so no support but I’ll try figure it out.

I’ve tried a theme called Mystile (also free) that has the option to open the images in a lightbox but it seems it doesn’t show the product image gallery as thumbnails. All the product images are full size. Are you perhaps familiar with this theme? If I could get the images to show as thumbnails for this theme my problem is solved

@tasha99 the only thing I can say is from the changelog of theme mystile:

    2017.04.10 – version 1.3.19
    * Fix – Fixes the WooCommerce 3.0.0 compatibility for the new product gallery.

Thank you mensmaximus. I updated Mystile but that didn’t fix the problem, so don’t think that was it. I’ve taken the Coming Soon mode off if you wouldn’t mind having a look please?

Well it looks fine for me and does what woocommerce 3.0 introduced. You should clear your browser cache. However if the way the images zoom and slide now is not what you want, you need to hire someone who can adjust it for you.

How embarrassing. You are right, it was browser cache. I clearly need coffee. Thank you mensmaximus!
