Product ID not importing

    Hi, i know this question has been asked before, but I’ve read many forum threads that contradict each other.

    I need to import products and retain the original ID number, but when I use Woo’s built-in import, even tho the ID field is matched to the ID field in the csv file, it does not import the ID number.. but creates a new ID number….

    Is this normal? Or is something going wrong at my end?

    Yes, this is normal behavior for WooCommerce. When you import products, WooCommerce automatically generates new IDs for these products, regardless of the ID field in your CSV file. This is because the ID is a unique identifier in the WordPress database and cannot be duplicated.

    However, if retaining the original IDs is essential for you, you may consider using a plugin that allows this, such as WP All Import.
